Education and Appointments: |
Gui-Lan Duan, a professor of Soil Environmental Sciences and Environmental Biology, currently works in the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Dr. Duan got her Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Environmental Sciences in 2006, from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Duan worked in Professor Barry P. Rosen’s lab for half year, and in Professor Toru Fujiwara’s lab for 2 years as JSPS postdoctoral. Dr. Duan's main research interests include: (1) Biogeochemistry of metals/metalloid, carbon and nitrogen; (2) Biological remediation of soil contaminated by heavy metals; (3) Soil-plant-microbe interactions, microbiology. Dr. Duan has been in charge of and participating in several research projects including National Natural Science Foundation, and National Key Research and Development Program etc., and has published nearly 100 academic papers in international and Chinese journals, including Nature Plants, Plant Physiology, New Phytologist, Environmental Science & Technology and Environmental Pollution etc. Dr. Duan has successively won several awards, including the first prize of Science and Technology Award of China Soil Society (the first winner), the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Guangdong Province (the third winner), and the top ten scientific and technological progress of China's ecological environment in 2022 (the fourth winner). Dr. Duan two national standards have been formulated. |
