Electrothermal quartz atomizer developed by the laboratory and series of new developed morphometrics methods including flow injection preconcentration technology and Atomic Spectru/MS coupling technology, have a potention influence in the world. The new proposed determination method for kinetics order, activation energy and frequency factor during the isothermal atomization, and the new method getting the order of reaction and activation energy during the formation of calefactive atoms are praised highly by worldwide experts in the field. The in situ preconcentration hydride generation- electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry is first proposed, which is one of the most sensitive methods for existent hydride generation elements. The research invents the flame photometric detection method which is appraised as one of the most sensitive methods for organotins, and awarded one national invention patent. The low-temperature chromatographic technology is invented and there are many new sample preparation technologies are developed. The first monograph on ion chromatography is published in China, and the researches on many aspects of ion chromatography hold the leading position in the world, and in 1999, our researcher Mou Shifen was awarded the special prize for outstanding contribution to the development of ion chromatography discipline in consideration of her contribution to the development of ion chromatography.
Environmental sample preparation is the decisive factor restricting the accuracy of environmental analysis and determination time. The laboratory invents continuously mobile extraction platform, which is promising to be a sort of new on-field and on-line monitoring method with field sampling, separation and analysis into one body. In the development of new fibres and extraction devices for SPME, we achieved series of invention patents, which is promising to break the rampart of expensive foreign patents so as to popularize the SPME technology in China.
