The Laboratory of Solid Waste Treatment and Recyclingis currently devoting to the development of newtheories and technologies for solid waste recycling and pollution control based on academic frontiers and major national demands. Researchesone-waste, polymer waste, bio-waste, construction waste, sewage sludgeandmunicipal solid wastes are beingundertaken. Available techniques and processes on the laboratory platform includehydrothermal synthesis, supercritical synthesis, sintering synthesis, photoelectric synthesis, plasma synthesis, hydrometallurgical recovery, supercritical fluid extraction, supercritical oxidation,photocatalytic reduction, pyrovacuumrecovery, solvothermalextraction, etc. Demonstrating bases have been established in Shaanxi, Fujian and Inner Mongolia.
The Laboratory researches address five main issues:
1. Recovery of valuable metals from solid waste;
2. Functional materials synthesis from solid waste;
3. Waste biomass treatment and recycling;
4. Analysis and detoxification of hazardous substances insolid waste;
5. Management and risk control of solid waste.
