2013 Water and Sanitation Training Course

Early- to mid-career administration, municipal official and managers from developing countries are invited to apply for a November training course in China planned by the CAS-TWAS Centre of Excellence for water and environment. The deadline to apply is 01 September.

Experts from international institutions across the globe will share their experiences working in this increasingly critical field. The centre is jointly sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and TWAS, and hosted at the. The training course will take place 04-15 November 2013 in Beijing, Haidiand istrict, China.

Participation is limited to 25 people, and female applicants will be given priority. Selected applicants will be provided with round-trip airfares between their home countries and Beijing, as well as local expenses during the course.

2013 water and Sanitation training course (cover)
CAS-TWAS Centre of Excellence for Water and Environment” (CAS-TWAS CEWE) is established in the Research Centre for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy Sciences (CAS). It follows the direction of CAS and the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries (TWAS). The goal of CEWE is to culture the professionals in the water and environmental fields for developing world through various training, education and joint research programs. The CEWE will initiate a training program for water and wastewater managers from the developing countries. This training program consists of lectures, technical tour, workshop and other related events. A network for the water professionals and researchers in developing countries will be reinforced through our continuing efforts. All expenses for approved applicants, including airfare, accommodation, registration and meals, will be covered by CAS-TWAS CEWE.

 Water environment protection: regulations and practice
 Water supply: pollutants removal and management
 Wastewater treatment: technologies and processes
 Water source management: conservation and remediation.
