Background:
Dr. Carl J. Belliston is the Director of the NewVistas project, which is an initiative headquartered in Provo, Utah to design a concept for scalably sustainable urban development. New Vistas and its corporate sponsor, Novatek, Inc., operate as a modern Edison Labs to create environmentally responsible technologies for the world.
Dr. Belliston holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Utah, with emphases in law and economics, public economics, environmental economics, and the economics of industrial organizations. He also holds a JD from Brigham Young University and practiced corporate law for over 20 years before joining the NewVistas project in 2009. His current research interests focus on economic incentives and structures for environmentally responsible behavior.
