August 16-20, 2010

Beijing, China

Background

Deterioration of drinking water quality and sanitary conditions are serious challenges for the developing countries. With the great efforts devoted to solve these water quality problems, substantial progress has been achieved. 2010 TWAS Frontier in Water and Sanitation aims to provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences for water engineers and researchers in developing countries.

Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), will act as the organizer. State Key Laboratory of Environmental Aquatic Chemistry (SKLEAC), one of the eight departments of RCEES, has become the authoritative organization in the field of water research in China. SKLEAC will be a key affiliation to facilitate the 2010 TWAS workshop.

This workshop consists of lectures, round table workshop, technical visit, and other related events. A network for the water engineers and researchers in developing countries will then be expected through the workshop.
