The Meeting of CAS Senior International Scientists and Young Fellows (2012) was held in Beijing from June 7-8. On the afternoon of June 7, RCEES hosted the Resource and Environment Group Meeting. More than 20 scientists in the related research fields from over 10 countries such as USA, UK, France, Japan, Poland and Belgium participated this group meeting and following lab tour at RCEES. Prof. JIANG Guibin, Academician of CAS and Deputy Director of RCEES delivered a welcome speech and made a brief introduction to RCCES. The R&E Group Workshop was co-chaired by Dr. Koen Blanckaert who is awarded as the Senior International Scientists at RCEES and Prof. WANG Dongsheng from the State Key Lab of Environmental Aquatic Chemistry. 8 overseas scientists from 6 institutes of CAS shared their research experiences and achievements in China. Prof. GUO Lianghong, Prof. ZHANG Qinghua, Prof. WANG Dongsheng and Prof. WANG Xiaoke successively presented the State Key Lab of Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology, Dioxin Lab, State Key Lab of Aquatic Chemistry and State Key Lab of Urban and Regional Ecology, the facilitates of which were well recognized by the overseas attendees.
Launched in 2009 by CAS, the Visiting Professorships for Senior International Scientists and the Fellowships for Young International Scientists aim to lure foreign scientists who are willing to work with Chinese scientists and for the development of science and technology in China, thus enhance science and technology innovation capacity of CAS scientists.
