U.S.EPA Delegation visits RCEES

On 8th October 2011, a U.S.EPA delegationled by Dr. Thomas Speth, Director of Water Supply and Water Resources Division, United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), paid a visit to RCEES. Prof.QU Jiuhui, Academician of CAE and Director General of RCEES, chaired a welcome meeting with the EPA guests. Dr. Thomas Speth and Prof.  YANG Min, Director of State Key Laboratory of Environmental Aquatic Chemistry, RCEES, made an introduction to their research achievements and advantages in the field of drinking water respectively. After exchanges, scientists from both sides identified their common research interest, discussed mutually beneficial cooperation mechanism and reached a consensus preliminarily.It was agreed that there existed a broad scope of cooperation between EPA and RCEES, both of whom expressed strong desire and confidence in further promoting the bilateral cooperation.

USEPA has a strong capacity and substantial experience in R&D of drinking water. It is believed that strengthening the cooperation between USEPA and RCEES will be beneficial to both sides.
