SCOPE and Elsevier Jointly Establish a New International Journal

Scientific Committee on Problems of Environment (SCOPE) and Elsevier will jointly establish a new international journal with the title of Environmental Development: an International Journal of SCOPE. On Feb.17, Prof. LV Yonglong and Ms. Veronique Plocq Fichelet from SCOPE signed a cooperation agreement with Dr. Philippe Terheggen and Dr. Gert-Jan Geraeds from Elsevier in UNESCO headquarters, Paris.

Environmental Developmen: An International Journal of SCOPE, focuses on the fields of environmental administration and policy making. The new journal is expected to progress on cross-discipline research methods between natural sciences and political sciences by taking the advantages of the expert network of SCOPE. Papers published on the journal should involve forefront scientific issues, theories and models, tool development on environmental administration and policy, etc. The chief editor of the journal is Professor Theo Beckers from Tilburg University, Holland. Professor LV Yonglong from Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, CAS, and Professor John P. Giesy from Saskatchewan University, Canada, are about to hold a post of subeditor. The journal will be published in January, 2012.
