Deputy Vice-Chancellor Chris Kirk of Lincoln University, New Zealand, and Soil Scientist, Professor Di Hongjie of Lincoln University, visited Chinese Academy of Sciences on April 14, 2008. Cao Jinhua, deputy director of Bureau of International Cooperation of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Zhuang Xuliang, director of Division of Eco-environmental Sciences, Bureau of Science and Technology for Resources and the Environment of CAS, met the guests. Prof. Zhu Yongguan, Director of Laboratory of Soil Environmental Science of RCEES, guided the visit of guests. They exchanged idea in research of nitrogen biogeochemical recycle in terrestrial ecosystems and global change. Both sides agreed to co-organize research projects and promote further cooperation. Before this visit, the project on nitrogen recycle in grassland leaded by Prof. Di Hongjie and Prof. He Jizheng of RCEES was granted by the New Zealand government.
