August 3, 1986, amalgamated Institute of Environmental Chemistry with Research Center of Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, established Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences

1986, System Ecology Laboratory established.

1989, State Key Laboratory of Environmental Aquatic Chemistry was founded.

December, 1991, RCEES moved to the present location.

October, 1995, Professor XU Xiaobai was selected as Member of CAS, Professor TANG Hongxiao was selected as Member of CAE.

June 4, 1999, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences began to implement Knowledge Innovation Program Pilot Project.

October, 1999, Professor FENG Zongwei was selected as Member of CAE.

October 11, 1999, System Ecology Laboratory moved back to RCEES from Institute of Zoology, CAS.

2002, Key Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology, CAS, was authorized.

March 22, 2005, State Key Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology was authorized.

July 26, 2006, State Key Laboratory of Urban and Regional Ecology was authorized.

March 6, 2008, Department of Environmental Nano-materials was established.

December, 2009, Professor JIANG Guibin was selected as Member or CAS, Professor QU Jiuhui was selected as Member of CAE.
