LIU Guorui; 1980, Hebei; Ph.D; Professor; Associate Editor, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety; Expert on the assessment of POPs in the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO); 2007-2010, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ph.D.; 2010-2013, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Assistant Professor; 2013-2018, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Associate Professor; 2019-present, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor; Environmental Chemistry and Pollution Control; Guorui LIU has identified multiple emission sources of new pollutants such as polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCNs), and revealed the free radical mechanism and control principle for the generation of a variety of new pollutants. The research-related results are recommended by UNEP for global emission estimation of persistent organic pollutants such as PCNs in relevant industries. Guorui Liu serves as the head of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Innovation Intersection Team. Guorui Liu was awarded the National Science and Technology Progress Award (China, Second Class) and Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award (China, First Class) in 2019. He was also awarded the “Yong Scientist Award” in the 13th International Symposium of Persistent Toxic Substance held in Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Germany in 2016.
Research Interest:
Analysis and generation mechanism of POPs and environmental persistent free radicals (EPFRs)
