Dr Xiao is a Professor at Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He got his PhD degree from Aarhus University, and conducted postdoctoral research at University of Leeds. His research interest lies in understanding microbially-mediated biogeochemical processes in soi and sediment (like carbon cycling). He received the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Abroad, and was invited to give a talk at Goldschmidt 2019. He is a member of the editorial board of Biogeochemistry, and serves as a reviewer for many professional journals.
