Dr. Ting Ruan, associate professor in State Key Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Eco-toxicology, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences. B.S. degree received from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2006, and Ph.D degree in environmental chemistry from the Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011.
My Research interests focus on analytical strategies on identification of novel chemical contaminants. Expertise on pretreatment of complex environmental matrixes, characterization and elucidation of unknown chemical structure by high-resolution mass spectrometry, quantitative structure-property relationship modeling, occurrence and fate of organic contaminants in the environment. Forty-one research papers have been published in SCI journals, including Environ. Sci. Technol., TrAC Trend Anal. Chem., Environ. Health Perspect. The article on identification of chlorinated polyfluoroalkyl ether sulfonates (Environ. Sci. Technol. 2015, 49, 6519-6527) has been selected in the ACS Virtual Issues “Water Analysis for Emerging Chemical Contaminants” and “Poly- and Perfluoroalkyl Substances”, respectively.
Research projects involve funding from the National Natural Scientific Foundation of China, the High-Tech Research and Development Program of China (863), and the National Basic Research Program of China (973). Based on work experience and knowledge on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, I was nominated to serve as a member of the expert group coordinated by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) for the official guidance document “PFAS analysis in water for the Global Monitoring Plan of the Stockholm Convention”. I was a member of Organizing Committee of the FLUOROS 2015: An International Symposium on Poly- and Perfluoroalkyl Substances in the Environment in Colorado, US. I am a guest editor in Journal TrAC Trends in Analytical Chemistry (IF: 7.034).
