Prof. Hu received the doctorate degree in environmental engineering from the Research Center for Eco-Environmental of the Chinese academy of sciences in 2006. He currently works in water purification group in the State Key Laboratory of Environmental Water Quality since 2006, and is the associate director of the laboratory. He has been to the Menachem Elimelech Research Group at Yale University as a visiting scholar in 2016. He focus on the principle and application of electrokinetic technology for water treatment, develops decentralized water treatment equipment. He mainly engaged in electrically conductive membrane fabrication and separation mechanism, selective electroadsorption electrode and interface process, and electrochemical membrane separation reactor. He has published more than 70 academic papers on the journal of J. Mater. Chem. A, Environ. Sci. Technol., and Water Res. etc. He has issued more than 20 Chinese patents, and 8 of them have been authorized. He designed and implemented 8 water treatment projects, and drafted 4 provincial and ministerial advisory reports. He has been awarded by National Second Prize for Technological Invention, First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, First Prize in Science and Technology Progress of the Ministry of Education etc.
