Weihua Xu got his PhD degree from University on of Chinese Academy of Science in 2006. His research aspects include biodiversity conservation, ecosystem planning and ecological planning. Recently he held more than 20 projects as PI, from Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Land Resources, Chinese Natural Science Foundation, Euro-China biodiversity program, WWF and others. He was also involved in some projects including National Ecosystems Survey and Assessment, National Major Function Zoning, Ecological Carrying Capacity Assessment, Spatial Planning of National Parks, Ecological Function Zoning, National Protection Engineering Planning on Giant Pandas. He published more than 100 scientific papers in international and domestic journals including PNAS, Nature Ecology & Evolution, Trends in Ecology & Evolution, Current Biology, Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment.
