Ph.D, currently employed as a professor by Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Graduate tutor for Ph.D. students.
He is Director of Special Committee for Urban Ecology, the Society of Ecology of China and the member of Special Committee for Ecological and Environmental Sciences, Society of Sustainable Development of China. He is engaged in the metabolism analysis of urban or industrial ecosystems and its ecological effects, the physiological ecological mechanism of urban ecological processes and services, urban ecological restoration engineering, urban ecosystem computing and simulation and urban ecological planning and design. As a leader or principal researcher, he has participated in many state research projects such as the projects from National Foundation of Natural Sciences of China, Key Supporting Project of Ministry of Science and Technology of China, National Basic Research Program of China (973 project), Knowledge Innovation Project of Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as other local governmental projects for urban ecological planning and ecological engineering. He has published more than 80 research papers and 6 research books as co-authors, and 5 academic awards such as National Science & Technology Progress Award, Jiangsu Provincial Science & Technology Progress Award, and Science & Technology Progress Award of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
